Isaiah 29:13 says, “And the Lord said: ‘Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men.” Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” I challenge you to confess any sin, any hinderance, or any consuming thought before you walk into your place of worship on Sunday. Psalm 32:5-6 gives us an example of what our worship could be like once we have done so, “I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah. Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.” I guarantee you that it won’t matter what style of worship you sing that day. If you are clean and pure and free of hinderance before God, it will be a wonderful time of praise to your ever present God.
