Isaiah 43:18-19, “Remember now the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
We like to live in the past at times. We’ve all had those long showers where we run through a conversation in our head that we would have like to have handled differently. We also run the risk of re-hashing our disappointments and hurts in our past also. Our passage today tells us to get off the hamster wheel. Don’t keep playing the same discussion in your head over and over again.
The Lord is the author of all things new. He turns our old, nasty hearts into a new creation! He takes the path that we can’t see yet and makes it visible! He turns the wilderness into an oasis. We can’t dwell on what we thought our life was going to turn out as. We need to dwell on our future and what the Lord has planned for us. Envision your future with the Lord in complete control. What a beautiful sight it will be!
