Tying all the Blessings together
Text: Psalm 37:4
Psalm 37:4 echo’s the last two passages from Psalm that we’ve looked at. Have you ever wondered why the Bible repeats itself? BECAUSE WHAT IT’S SAYING IS IMPORTANT! When these passages say “delight in the LAWS of the Lord” they are saying to pay attention to the boundaries and rules that the Lord has put before us. The Lord put boundaries out there not to confine us into this little corner with no fun but to keep us from harm. The crux of this verse is that by following His laws and by staying in His boundaries that we will be blessed. This, again, doesn’t mean that we are never going to sin. Think of David, he was called a man after God’s own heart, but he was a liar, murderer, adulterer and the list goes on! BUT David was repentant and knew which of God’s laws he had broken and was remorseful for breaking the Laws of such a holy, merciful God. I challenge you to read through the beatitudes again and really take to heart the attributes that are spoken of. Do you exhibit the attributes here?
