Hello! My name is Christie. I’m going to give the ‘short’ version of my life… When I was 3 my daddy got saved and our lives and home changed drastically. I don’t remember the change and I’m thankful that I don’t remember our lives before God was the center of our home. My dad had us in church every time the doors were open. Soon after, my sister was born and we had a fantastic childhood. Of course it wasn’t perfect but I do believe that it was as close to perfect as you can get in this world full of sin and imperfection.
When I was 14 my mom decided to leave my dad. That was very hard on our entire family and I believe it caused me to need to grow up quicker than I should have. Divorce is sad, heartbreaking, and has effected my life in so many ways and it still effects me today at the age of 33. But God is gracious, forgiving, full of mercy, and restoration.
My family has grown in many ways since I was 14. Today I have 6 parents (including step and in-laws). I have seven sisters, one brother, 5 (soon to be 6) brother-in-laws, soon to be 8 nieces and nephews, and a ridiculous amount of aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Now that is messy… But God has blessed me so very much through the mess.
He has also taught me what kind of wife and mom I want to be by watching the mistakes my parents made as well as the many things they did right. I met my husband at the age of 16 and we became best friends. I married, Justin, my best friend almost 13 years ago. He is a strong, amazing, hilarious, silly, godly man and I’m truly blessed to have him as the most important human in my life! We have 4 kids. Trinity is 11, Arianna is 9, Sophia is 8, and Derrek (our crazy boy) is 6. We homeschool and that is a mess all of its own! I have been blessed to be able to stay home with our babies, to guide them, teach them, laugh with them, and love on them whenever I want. It’s not easy and it never will be but man is it worth it!
I’m going to be taking pictures for this website/blog. I’ve been taking pictures since I was about 15 years old but truly started to love it the year I married my husband. I hope that you enjoy them and are blessed by them as well as the beautiful words you read from these amazing women.
