Fear Not, I came to save you
He came to save us! We had no hope in life at all. We were destined for death. But as it states so simply in our text today, Jesus “came to seek and to save the lost.” We can rest in this knowledge and have no fear that we were rescued from our hopelessness and certainty of death because Jesus promises us salvation. In John 10:7-10, we find that Jesus describes himself as the door of the sheep. In verse 10 he says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” So not only did he come to save us but he came to give us a life that is abundant!
Eddie Lyons, Pastor of High Street Baptist Church said this, “Most people feel like God is by default angry with them. But here’s the thing: Jesus is God and he has come to earth with a message to human beings; He loves you. He is not by default angry with you. He came to rescue and save and help and bring joy and gladness back into our lives.”
Live without fear that Jesus has come to save you, to rescue you from eternal death and to give you everlasting life in the presence of God!
